Company contracts with Electric Lightwave to provide network disaster recovery
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 13, 2004 – Sacramento, California might just become a haven for corporate data centers. With a minimal risk of most forms of natural disaster such as earthquakes, hurricanes and tornados, many companies are migrating critical servers and services from San Francisco data centers to companies like American Web Services. With more companies relying on their service, American Web Services wanted to ensure that they could handle any contingencies.
American Web Services has relied on Electric Lightwave (ELI) as a primary fiber provider to provide transit for their Internet traffic. In a recent upgrade to their service with ELI, American Web Services has contracted with them to provide migration of their services to any existing ELI fiber location. "We wanted to be able to easily migrate our hosting services to other regions in the case of an impact in the Sacramento Valley," said Ed Williams, Chief Technology Officer of American Web Services. Currently, ELI operates data centers in Salt Lake City, Portland and Phoenix.
American Web Services has successfully developed and hosts ArrowClick Software solutions for hundreds of organizations, including Big O Tires, CENTURY 21 Select, Wine Country Gourmet, Center for Health Improvement, and PoliticsNationwide.
